We all volunteer into various projects run by Flowing Rivers in order to put into action what we have learnt from the Word. Have a look at the projects we’re engaged in and view our experiences.

International Missions
International Missions
Flowing Rivers is committed to international as well as national collaborations. Internationally, Flowing Rivers supports Sure24, a Kenyan based orphanage in the Nakuru region of Kenya. We also support Living Waters, based in a village in Borneo.

Sure24 comprises of about 200 former street kids aged 2-19, with many that have been rescued from the harshness and social detachment of street life. These children now depend on the support of benefactors to sponsor their board, feeding and education. Likewise, in Borneo, we currently sponsor eight children collectively.

We organise an annual trip to Nakuru which consists of medical camps hosted by our medical professionals, as well as business training seminars, career coaching, study sessions etc. Flowing Rivers is also collaborating with other organisations to build a fully functional primary and secondary school facility for the young people.

Flowing Rivers sponsors some of the children, and consistently seek out other organisations willing to do the same. If you would like to know more about any of these missions or if you would like to come along with us on any mission trip, please get in touch via our social media platforms or via the contact page, we would love to hear from you.
Children Sponsorship
Children Sponsorship
The Flowing Rivers’ sponsorship project stems from our vision to birth life; this project is specifically geared to assisting less privileged children all over the world. We currently support orphaned children in Borneo and Kenya with the aim that children are upheld in prayers, contacted regularly, as well as the financial procurement received through sponsorship. Our monthly sponsorship has a substantial impact on our children as it caters for their schooling, their board and upkeep. Communication with the children is one of our greatest joys; our team does this by writing monthly letters to each child, encouraging them to have great aspirations and to fulfil their God-given purpose. Last and foremost, corporate prayer is organised monthly; here it is our outcry that these children know and embrace the Father’s infinite love, and as of consequence fulfil destiny.

There are a great number of children we sponsor directly, nonetheless, we recognise the high level of deprivation and need running across our world. We plan to continue sponsoring more children as we grow, with the aim that eventually this project will become self-sustaining; it is our confidence that all our children will grow and become established, such that they can impart back into the lives of other children like them.

This vision extends beyond just the members of our team; we also encourage those who are financially capable, to invest in a child’s life.
Elderly People Project
Elderly People Project
The elderly people project caters for the mature citizens who have found themselves less able to self-care. It is our hope that they are assisted in a dignified and loving manner, one in which puts them at ease.

On the last Saturday of every month, a team of us go out to a residential home and spend two hours with the elderly. We often plan fun activities varying from bingo to board games and on occasion even charades!

We also have a tea break routinely which allows us to fellowship and converse with the residents regarding their week and how they’ve been feeling, at times we are encouraged when our offer of prayer is taken up from residents, who are happy for us to pray with them regarding anything that may be a personal concern.

We immense take joy in hearing from residents on how much joy we bring to their hearts when they know we’re coming to pay them a visit. On a whole the project is an opportunity for us to show love in the most practical way possible, fundamentally our mission statement is to preach Christ at all times and if necessary use words.
Street Mission
Street Mission
The vision for the street mission project is from the book of Isaiah 58:10 (NKJV) – “If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.” We recognise that we are God’s hand extended in love, specifically to those who are homeless on the streets of London.

We visit Lincoln’s Inn Field in central London twice a month and provide food, drinks, prayer, amenities, and advice where required. We believe that faith without work is dead, thus seek to share the hope and joy that we have found, in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are here on earth to make a difference, let’s start now!
Food Bank
Food Bank
The vision of this project is to ensure we assist members of society who are unable to afford food, in a way that is both warm and empathetic. The heart of the project is an antipathy for poverty and hunger within our communities, especially whilst much of our food is easily available and even wasted at times.

Logistically, we operate by linking and supporting our local food banks, donating and facilitating the collection of non-perishable food. We regularly contribute this food to banks in our surrounding boroughs; one of which is the Barking Food Bank. Here we offer assistance with the organisation and storage of the food, as well as serving the recipients of the Food Bank.

But it doesn’t just stop there. It is our hope that those who have encountered practical love from the Food Bank project, will come to glorify the Lord of increase, our saviour Jesus Christ.
Winter Giveaway
Winter Giveaway
Homelessness rates are dramatically rising, leaving huge numbers of rough sleepers at risk during winter. The winter giveaway project was launched in 2011, purely with a desire to cater to the needs of homeless people within London during the coldest months. Every year our team of volunteers assemble and distribute Love Bags to homeless people in London.

These Love Bags contain essential winter supplies such as hats, gloves, blankets, scarves, etc. For us, it is more than just distributing bags, but it’s about the lives and souls we encounter. Thus we also provide hot food and drink, offering advice and general conversation.

The annual giveaways are truly spectacular, with an atmosphere that is serenaded by a live gospel choir.
Conferences
Conferences
The Impact series is a collection of seminars focused on inspiring people to be current, relevant and influential in their generation. The seminars focus on relationships (singleness, courtship and marriage), business, career, investments, personal development, current trends, healthy living, mental well-being and many more.

Running alongside these seminars are our mentoring workshops which build on the works done at the seminar.

You were born to make Impact, let’s show you how!
Universities
Universities
Flowing Rivers understands the relevance of the university institution, not merely as a hub for learning, but also the residence of potential leaders. This ties into our corporate vision “Birthing Life wherever we flow”; ‘Birthing Life’ simply means bringing whatever is dead to life or giving life to that which is unknown. It thus becomes incumbent we flow into the universities; we do this through mentoring, training, coaching, counselling, and above all, the divine interaction of the Holy Spirit.

Collaborating with other organisations, Flowing Rivers will be hosting business seminars, industry specific talks, entrepreneurship boot camps etc. We understand that the time spent at university can be a stressful period, and here at Flowing Rivers, we emphasise the place of faith and a relationship with Christ. These conferences consist of atmosphere changing worship, heart changing, love and life changing teaching.

If you would like to know more about any of these projects, get in touch with us via any of our social media platforms or through the contact page.
Prisons
Prisons
The vision of this project is to minister God’s love and comfort to those in prisons. Flowing Rivers recognises that the re-offending rate of inmates is on the increase; it is perceptible that even though prison is punitive, it is not always rehabilitating.

We do this by visiting prisons and detention centres, hosting targeted training sessions to address self-esteem, failure, true success, gang life, among other things. From a faith perspective, it is our duty to remember the socially disadvantaged as we recognise that society may have turned their back on many of the prisoners, and labelled them unusable. It is a complex which has many facets and we readily take on its challenges, choosing to love audaciously.

The nature of God’s love is reformative, and it is our prayer that we can contribute to the decline of re-offenders.
Just Church
Just Church
Just Church is a campaign to get other churches and organisations to come together under the umbrella of simply “church”, stripping down names and labels to take second place to the work given to the church body to do!

We collaborate with other churches to get the great commandment done (love your neighbour as yourself). The campaign consists of facilitating rallies and collaborating with organisations to serve the public through various project initiatives. Flowing Rivers gives the opportunity to individuals, groups and churches to serve alongside us in any of our projects under the banner of Just Church.

We sidestep religion, reject schisms and say no to divisions and simply do church!
James 2:17 (NKJV) Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
